In 2017, the UAE government introduced the Teacher’s Licensing System (TLS) for UAE teachers. After the year 2020, no teacher in the UAE will be able to get a teaching job without a TLS license. All teaching professionals must pass this test if they want to work as professional teachers in the UAE. All principals, vice-principals, managers and teachers working in all public and private schools in the UAE must have a UAE-issued TLS teacher’s license to work legally.
The TLS license is can be obtained by passing two tests, one in pedagogy and the other in the special skills of the applicant teachers.
If applicants do not meet the test criteria and fail the test, the system introduces training courses that are customized based on the level shown in the test to achieve the desired results.
